Encounters play a central role in Nuno’s movements. How can we truly meet in all purity? And what prejudices, assumptions, fears, and emotions will arise?
The artist creates the opportunity to experience these questions physically, for those who partake in his projects, for the spectators, but also for himself. His work essentially acts as a mirror, where you see the other, you see yourself. This can evoke joy, but sometimes also discomfort, the result however, is invariably binding. “Only if we can meet in all openness and vulnerability will a true connection arise. I enjoy inviting people to open up to this vulnerability.”
Nuno works with various methods and perspectives, such as performances, interactive installations, or stories told through the lens of a camera, and thus does not shy away from meeting himself. "Because how can I really meet the other, if I have not encountered myself?"
