A book of life stories
The first time Nuno Bakker held an analogue camera in his hand, he went out on the street and approached randomly selected strangers.
He asked them to instinctively share the 5 memories that contributed most to becoming the person they are now. After the memories had been shared, he would take their picture.
The result is a book, with no beginning and no end. The reader is invited to take out a picture from a selected page, and take 5 minutes to judge the person depicted, writing down all assumptions regarding their life.
After 5 minutes the picture can be flipped over, revealing the actual memories shared by the photographed person, the reader can then compare his judgements to these memories, the result is often intriguing.
Pick a photograph, observe it for 5 minutes
Write down all thoughts you have about this person, guess what their life has been like up to the moment that this photograph was taken.
